The region’s most versatile post-production workshop
Affinity’s post-production department maintains the largest concentration of professional video edit suites and workstations in the region. We have five main edit suites and two multi-NLE workstations running Avid Media Composer Symphony, the entire suite of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator as well as Apple Final Cut Pro X. We also support Avid project, volume and bin sharing for Unity/Interplay-style collaboration. Additional software tools include DaVinci Resolve, Episode Pro, Squeeze, Compressor and Adobe Media Encoder. We provide 2D still and motion graphics creation, encoding to H.264, H.265/HEVC, XDCAM OP1a, Quicktime, Windows Media, Blu-ray and DVD authoring and mastering and SATA and LTO data backup and archiving.
Support for 4K and beyond
Affinity continues to evolve its post-production support for ultra high resolution formats, including 4K and beyond. Our main edit suites provide real-time hardware support for 4K and UHD editorial and finishing. The companion Avid Artist Color control surface provides added speed and precision in DaVinci Resolve grading sessions.
Formats and fibre
Our format support includes XAVC HD and 4K, RED, ARRI, HDCAM, XDCAM-HD, XDCAM-EX, NXCAM, AVCHD, DVCPRO-25/50/100, HDV, DVCAM, Digital Betacam and Betacam SP. Our central equipment room supports decks, drives and servers for all of our acquisition formats and makes them available to our edit suites for ingest and mastering. All systems are linked to our 112TB Facilis Terrablock fibre-channel NAS server, as well as gigabit ethernet LAN and 1000Mbps (1Gbps) symmetrical fibre access to the Internet. All workstations and data are protected by a combination of client, central server and ISP firewalls, security procedures and backup systems. For efficient and secure in-house collaboration, Affinity’s post facilities are fully integrated with the rest of our Affinity Production Group team. For external data transfers, Affinity offers secure, customizable FTP services as well as support for client-based UDP services from Aspera, Signiant and File Catalyst.
